Tax Credits Renewal

Hoping somebody can shed some light here.

Had our tax credits (childcare) stopped in June as HMRC had received the wrong income information for my DH (much more than he actually earns), and according to that we were no longer entitled. I called them to correct it but they said it probably wouldn't be corrected until our renewal has been processed. I completed the renewal on 14th June but it still says 'processing' and have not had any letters of a final decision yet.

Not happy really as they stopped it out of the blue, without warning, based in incorrect information. Only reason I found out was because my childcare provider let me know that she hadn't received my SO, as there was insufficient funds in my account to cover it. Nightmare.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes before the renewal is processed and a final decision made. Also, will we get any backpay for this period they have stopped paying us?

Ugh what a nightmare!!!! They will give you backpay, which is something. They've always been very quick to process changes for us, but they always say it can take up to 8 weeks. How they think you are meant to manage for 8 weeks I do not know!!!!
