Help!! My scottish power gas and leccy bill has doubled in the last 3 months!! Any advice out there?

help, I was always careful with my bills, but these last 3 months my bill has doubled, nearly trebled, and it isn't even wintertime

am really worried, has anyone got any advice?

checkout www.moneysavingexpert.com this will give you links to sites so you can compare costs of other suppliers. I haven't looked for a long time but I rember something about most other companies reducing their costs, but Scottish power is locked in a very expensive contract with someone and though they are reducing it is not as much as other gas and leccy suppliers

You are checking the readings I assume and they haven't previously been underestimated ?

no liz I enter the readings myself on line

have you checked what it is that is causing the increase i.e. is it the rates or is it they are not using your readings?

Our latest bill was phenomenal as well toomuch, I don't really take much to do with bills DH does it all but I opened it because he was on holiday. Think I'll be double checking everything I can then switching.

Scottish Power fuck me off.

I hate them. I can't wait to no longer be their 'customer'.

Oh I had this with Scottish Power

Last year they charged me £40 a month, but now it's £185. It is really a nightmare.

dont even get me started on scottish fuc**ng power, i had a old git at my door last week handing me a letter saying if i did not pay £700 in the next week they would come round and turn my gas and electric of

i phoned then and kicked up hell and it turns out they sent me a bill in feb that i never recieved and this was the next step they were taking, i told them no way i could pay that in one go so i have just been calling up every week and making smaller payments and so far i have not had any more threats. fingers crossed i can do this until it is paid of.

as soon as it is paid i will be switching to someone else quick bloody smart.

i joined them in october for gas and electric was £80 a month I now pay £150 a month

hoping the move to a bungalw may reduce the cost but aint holding my breath
