PPI when I can't fin account numbers

Back in the day I had store cards with M and S, Debenhams, Wallis and Russell and Bromley (probably 15 - 20 years ago). I can't easily find records of these and have moved house.

Anyone claimed PPI on their own without these details? Where did you find the details - write to bank?? Have had the same bank account number for ever.

Thanks

Not sure if the same, but we just claimed with lloyds for a loan which we didn't have any details of and couldn't really remember exactly when it was and got money back. But the bank account number was the same. I think if you give name address, dob etc they should be able to locate you. No harm in trying! We are going to do Egg next for a loan for which we have no details.

I claimed ppi through Debenhams (sneaky baskets), and contacted Citi Bank ?

I have moved, and married, I just told them what my maiden name was, and where I lived.

I wrote my own letters, as I wasn’t prepared to part with 40% from one of these ppi companies. I’m currently claiming through Barclays after I had a moment in the car when it dawned on me one credit card I had.

Oops, looks like Santander are dealing with Debenhams ppi.

I've just done it, looked up number for relevant bank/creditor's PPI complaints department online and then gave them what details I could remember, they did the rest Smile I'm trying not to crow about it (because I won't really believe it til the cheque is in my bank account) but I received an offer yesterday for almost £17000 Shock I can't even tell you what difference that money is going to make to my family's life, it's huge for us so I'm still a bit shellshocked Grin

I don't even bank with them anymore (it was Halifax) but they don't seem to have any problems finding old accounts just via name and address details and rough dates so no reason you shouldn't have a bash, worst they can do is say no! Don't use a claims company, it's honestly so easy to do it yourself, good luck Smile

Wtf, that's great!
I've sent emails to Debenhams and Marks and Spencer, and dh is chasing a stupid thing they made us sign to get a car loan way back when. I will chase a couple more up - as you all say, if I give dob and addresses, they should be able to find the information. Anything will be very well received.
