Am I horrible to suggest my DH & I split to save $$

Am I horrible to suggest my DH & I split temporarily to save $$? He just revealed to me we have £35k debt and his work is irregular lately (freelance). The money borrowing for day to day expenses and Corp. tax has added up as he’s been hoping a big contract would come in and that would fix everything. I was shocked and in tears. It would take us ages in his income to pay it off. I am suggesting we live with Parents (and our 3 kids) for a year while we pay off the debt and sort out work for both of us. Only thing is I don’t wanna live with his parents. Am I wrong to suggest me & kids visit my mom & dad in the States - who I dreadfully miss - while he works to pay off the debt?

Op, only you know how your relationship works- but I'd have thought it won't be easy to keep it going if you're living in different continents and pissed off... can he work in the US? Could you all go, if that's what you want?

Do his parents want you?

Can you both get a job to pay off the debt?

Why should either of your parents have to take you and 3 children into their home?
