My housing benefit office are sodding useless. I have received 3 letters in the last week from them. One saying due to a change in circumstances my housing benefit was reassessed and I am now entitled to X amount which will be paid on 14/05/2018. The next one saying due to change in circumstances etc I am now entitled to Y amount which will be paid on 14/05/2018. And now I’ve receievd another saying my rate relief (equivalent to council tax) is being reassessed and has been suspended since 06/05/2018.
My last payment was 02/05/2018. Nothing came on the 14/05. My usual day for payments is a Wednesday anyway. Always has been. So I’ve had nothing at all and have 3 meters all saying different things! And I haven’t even had any change in circumstances!!
I am so sick of them. They do this all the time. They wrote to me last year saying I owed them over £400 from an over payment. I asked for a break down of when the overpayments were made. They just sent another letter saying I must pay them over £600 immediately. I wrote again asking for their figures to show where the overpayment was made and pointed out that they had now given me two different figures so could they clarify which wa step correct figure. Nothing. They haven’t gotten back to me.
Everytime I call them whoever you speak to knows nothing about your claim and says they will send an email to get someone to ring me which never happens.
In the meantime, how am I supposed to pay my rent which is due on Monday?
