I usually get my housing benefit on a Saturday, although the official day is a Monday I've always received it Saturday. I didn't get it yesterday and I don't know why

The banks have made changes for DD and other payments over weekends so if payments where to be made during a Sat/Sun then you get the money/make payment on Monday.

This does not include instant payments, so if you go in and make a payment it will go through immediately. This change is for prearranged payments.

Not sure but I bank with Natwest so it seems so

Yes, they've changed it recently I believe.

Also, you now can't just pay cash into an account that isn't yours without going through a very convoluted palaver. I tried to pay £10 into my friend's account as she requested as I owed her. Went into branch as I couldn't access my online banking. They refused to take the money from me! I had to walk 20 mins back to my car, drive to the next town and go into my bank to ask then to transfer £10 to her. All so the source of cash can be traced, I assume. But what if I didn't have a bank account? I do know several people who even in this day and age do not have bank accounts. How do they pay things now? Confused
