Has anyone here ever changed banks - is it a nightmare?

I want to change banks to another major high street bank.

I have a few different accounts with my old bank and all my direct debits, insurance is with them too, basically everything!

How easy is it to change?

I found it really straight forward. they were talking about this on breakfast news. Apparaently banking law says that your old bank has to pass deetails of d.d's and s.o's to your new bank within 3 days and if and d.d.s are missed and you are charged you can claim back the charges from the bank. Not a nightmare at all. The bank you are changing too will do it all for you. Just speak to them when you open the new account or you can do it all on-line.
