SIlent calls - have the number that has been calling me - can I report it to someone?

Am registered with the TPS.
Have been getting silent calls from the same number 2-3x day for the past week (1471'd it).

Is there anyone I can report it to? Been on to TPS website and its says they don't deal with silent calls but no other information on who to contact.

Any ideas? This is really p*ssing me off.

I'd report it direct to BT.

call tehm !

and report to BT

WigWamBam · 30/04/2007 14:28

You could try reporting it to BT as a nuisance call.

It's probably a callcentre with an automated system. The number is dialled automatically, but if there isn't an operator free to take it it sounds to you like a silent call.

Is it a UK number? If it's someone local to you then TPS can't stop them picking your number up from the local phone book.

ITs a very strange number - 01111

Can I report it to BT if I am not a BT customer?

no I didn't ring them back cos thought it might cost a lot.

One time there was someone on the other end (so we know which company it is) but dp answered and didn't say we were with TPS

I googled the number (yes, I'm bored today!) - have a look at this .

Not sure who you'd complain to if you're not a BT customer, but BT might be able to tell you. Or does your provider have a customer services number?

Sorry had to go out.

ofcom regulate phone companies. google for their website, im pretty sure its them you complain to

TheArmadillo · 30/04/2007 21:00

woohoo.
Ofcom had a really detailed thing on silent calls.

Have to contact telephone provider and only ofcom if there is a problem with that.

Thanks to all posters
