Most efficient way to send money from UK to France?

WingsofNylon · 24/11/2017 07:26

I want to send about £4- 5K to my parents who live in France. they have French bank accounts and possibly still have UK ones as well. I have no idea how to do this in the most efficient way given exchange rates and fees.

Can someone advise please?

If you're converting to euro, then look at transferwise or azimo.

If it's staying as £ then I've used an app called revolut to transfer smaller amounts of money.

I use Transferwise to send money to our french bank account. For a £5k transfer you're looking at a £18 fee.

Yep, transferwise. Use them monthly to send allowance to daughters French account. Much lower fees than HSBC.

I use Torfx. No fees at all and good exchange rates

Ask your bank to start with to get a base line for rates.

I have to send money from time to time to my mum in the USA and use this company here.

We use Azimo to transfer money from the UK to our bank account in West Africa. Works well and is easy.

I've used transferwise for the past few years but they're putting their fees up so will look at other options.
