Its been 5years from my youngest left further education the child tax credit said I was over payed by 400 hundred quid told them back then that was OK but never heard a word till yesterday saying that the debt collectors couldn't get in touch with me and they are demanding it all back in 1 payment, I'm not working ATM as I was a career for my mum before she passed away and due to health reasons havnt went back to work , any advice would be appreciated before I ring them on Monday , will they except monthly payments as I couldn't afford to pay it all at once

They should accept monthly payments, but you have to talk to them. I was overplayed by about £1000 and pay back £30 a month.
