my mum has just been kicked out of her boyfriends house, she has got a lot of things in his house, as she got a divorce settlement of nearly £50 grand and now it as all gone!, long story, but if he wont allow access can we go and kick the door in to retrieve this stuff, it is a matter of urgency as he is likely to sell it or smash it up, anybody know the law with regards to this please?

not really sure, maybe contact police but she may have to provide proof that these things are hers before they will let her take them. Hope someone will be along with more advice!

Presumably she doesn't own the house so I don't think technically she has a right to enter it or break in. she should try to persuade him. If necessary I suppose she could get a court order requiring him to promise not to dispose of it on an emergency basis and then sue him for the possessions. She should do a list of everythnig that is hers whilst she can remember as soon as possible.

She might be able to persuade the police to come over whilst she knocks on the door to go in to get the stuff and he might open the door if he sees police are there but I am not sure they are likely to want to get involved. As far as they will know she might be lying and could have made gifts of her stuff to the boy friend.
