and made a payment for £31 to a dating website in America . Thankfully it appears to have only happened about 1hr ago so have changed my password and security questions etc etc and have reported it to them.

Anyone have any experience of how long it takes for them to sort these things out and get the money back to me????

anyone???

I could "live" with it (knowing that I've changed my details before any money was taken from my bank account too) if it wasn't for the fact I'd come online to withdraw the £30 that was in there to my bank account

I shall keep bumping until I get at least one sympathy post - I'm mightily pssed off about it - that £30 was going to keep us on an 'even keel' until Tax credits in 2 weeks time....now I'll have to bl*dy scrimp ARGHHH

Lots of sympathy here - I know banks are pretty speedy about sorting out fraud refunds but have no idea what the case would be with Paypal. Just what you need on a sunny Easter weekend - sorry.

lol Fio - sadly it wasn't me......or DH - we were both sat downstairs - me half asleep in the chair and DH playing PS2 with DS1.

I suppose DS2 may have crept up and signed up......after all he does often say "Hellooooooo Ladieeeeeeeees" at TV ads with sexy woman on - and he's only 3 !

This has just happened to me, except that I knew nothing about it until a couple of hours ago a nice lady from paypal called me to verify the transactions (3 of around £200 to the same person in 1 day, when I usually buy the odd £20 thing off ebay every now and then). As soon as I said they weren't mine she said they'd reverse them, and I've just checked my account and it's been done. She was very helpful, is going to email info about reporting fraud etc etc - they seem pretty efficient and sorted. Hope yours is sorted out by now!!

Just an update on this - the money appeared back in my account yesterday - case sorted - don't know who/how they did it - but I've since changed my password and security details and thankfully they only took $59 (£32) out of my paypal account - and didn't manage to touch any of the money in my banks accounts.

Happened to me a couple of years ago - I never did get my money back despite contacting my bank and paypal. It was my bank whop telephoned me to raise their concerns. Was about £65 in total. Need to change your password frequently.
