Sure start maternity grant declined can I re apply

I applied for a sure start maternity grant and got rejected because we were not on benefits (bloody joke)

I have applied for child tax credit and child benefit, once these get approved can I re apply for the grant? Any advice would be great! TIA

Child tax credits could swing it, child benefit won't. Details here.

Yes you can claim it if you claim child tax credit
