Get it all down on a spreadsheet.

Write down everything that comes in and goes out, whatever is left divide by 4 or 5 and withdraw that amount in cash and then divide into shopping petrol or whatever in seperate jars/envelopes and write down or keep receipts for everything spent you will be surprised what you spend!! Good luck, if there is nothing left after outgoings buy a ticket for lottery saturday !!!

Bit of paper works well for me! Also have it on google documents to tick off as I put the money in the right place....free spread sheet.
I used to do jars with labels, till I realised I could be earning interest on the money sitting in the bank waiting for bills.
So now its in a nationwide flex account, and you can have as many e-savers asyou want, call them Gas, Phone, Car Tax etc, and they are earning 5.5%(I think) interest while they are sitting there
