Tax free childcare

I'm in the middle of setting up tax free childcare and a bit confused about when the govt adds its money to the account. As I understand it, we pay in £8000 a year, and the govt £2000. Does anyone know when the money is added?

I'm planning on transferring £666.67 (£8000 /12) a month to the account, but it will then be paid to DD's nursery a week later. If the govt money is added straight away it can then go straight to nursery too. And my direct debit for the extra nursery cost adjusted accordingly.

Gov money goes in instantly , cos it's an automatic process.

Also to note it's £8000 per child/account so if you have more than 1 child you can put in more.

Though I think your money takes about 24 hours to clear.

So I put my money in , wait a day or so for confirmation email , then pay nursery.
