About to issue a court letter to Abbey - Help Needed

I don't know if anybody can help - I have been in the process of claiming back bank charges from Abbey since September (I had a dd in October) so I haven't really been on the ball. I sent a letter last Monday again requesting the total amount and giving them 7 days to reply or that I would issue a county court summons thingy - I am just completing the online claim for and it has asked me to claim the interest at 8% per year. It meeds me to write a total. so should I claim the interest from the date of the first charge or from the date of my first letter? and whatever date I should claim from how the hell do I work out the figure? - I am claiming £1073:00 before any interest etc is added. Can anybody help?

so you need to know how muchinterest on 1073 at 8%?

LadyOfTheFlowers · 21/03/2007 23:28

if yes, 8% of 1073 is £85.84.

If you leave an email address I've got a spreadsheet that works it out for you, I'll send it to you. You just need to insert the amount of each charge and the date that the money went out of your account, it;s really easy

schnapps · 21/03/2007 23:30

No, you work it out from the date of being charged, so it will be a different amount of interest for each charge.

If you go here there's a calculator for exactly your situation at the bottom of the page

Good luck!!

might be worth not asking for interest - unless its £ 0000k's - can just make life harder for you trying to work it out
