Mortgage at valuation stage... tell me more.

We applied with Clydesdale on Friday via a broker, having spent the week before finding every document under the sun pertaining to our finances.

This afternoon, the EA rang up and said Clydesdale have instructed a valuation survey for tomorrow.

To me, that seems pretty quick. There's no way it's gone through underwriting so fast surely? In a day and a half; one of those day being a Friday where people are winding down? I've literally been having panic attacks over the underwriting for months; we've never got away so quickly?

Maybe it didn't need to go to underwriting? Some mortgages are approved immediately with some companies.
On the other hand, approval may be pending valuation. They may want to check it is worth what you are paying. This is also normal.

Thank you Flowers I'm so, so nervous. I'm hoping to hear back regardless by the end of next week as then they will have had the application for 2 weeks, and the results of the survey for 8 days.

Mortgage valuation is to ensure it's worth what your mortgage is. Not it's true value ifswim.

As long as they think it covers that, you'll be fine.

Nothing like a full survey, which id recommend.

Good luck!
