Hi the new tax year due to start and I'm on metentity leave and my tax code is 953M for this 17/18year due to marriage allowance and apparently underpaid of tax, I was wondering what kind of net pay I can expect to get every month from the smp, as we need to pay the bills

You shouldn't be paying either tax or NI until you go back. That tax code equates to about £183 tax free per week and SMP is £140 ish if I remember correctly. It's also below the threshold where you have to pay NI contributions.
