I have no clue where to start.

Have banked with Barclays for over 12 years and have definatly been charged for going overdrawn etc a number of times, not sure that it's loads of times but a fair few i think.

Anyhow, How do I go about claiming them back ??

Oh and also, if I am succesful, will barclays then be arsey and close my account ?

It's all there on moneysavingexpert

You need to get hold of your last 5 years statements first and work out what the charges total...

www.moneyexpert.com takes you through this step by step, including letter templates.
Basically you write to the bank requesting details of charges for last 6 years (they only keep details for that long) enclosing a £10 cheque (mine was returned as they said they didn't charge for it). Then list all your charges, you can add 8% interest if you want. Write back to them telling them how much you think they should give you, and wait to see. They may offer you less. Basically, they don't want to go to court because if they do and are unsuccessful it will open the floodgates and everyone will do it. But be quick, the situation may change in April.
Hope that helps and makes sense. But all details are on the website. Good luck.
