Debt collection, court summons (Scotland)

Personal debt on cc of £3200 which I was servicing but it was sold a couple of times, I had standing orders returned and ended up not knowing who has the debt. I then forgot about it.

Sheriff officers came with a summons last week. I've spoken to the acting solicitors to pay but even if I pay the full amount due (which I can and will) their client (whichever debt management company have it now) will log it as partially settled on my file.

This is because the solicitors will take their expenses off (around £290) bed passing payment to the company. I'm obviously not happy with this but do I have any options?

Other than paying the expenses obviously! Court documents only detail the debt value.
