Savings for a baby

I am TTC and want to put some money aside for my baby for when he or she grows up.

My question is whether it is possible to open a savings account for a child who isn't born yet! I am guessing not and I would have to put the money aside then transfer it to his or her own savings account when he or she arrives.

What do you think would be the best way to do this?

Thank you :)

Just open an account in your own name.

Mine don't know I save for them and I can hand them over when I deem the time is ready, either uni or business start up. Alternatively it may be a house deposit protected in my name for security.
