any ebay experts out there? need your opinion.

last night I bid for and won something. it said immediate payment - in whihc case he would post it today or can come and collect - cash on collection. (although on another bit it said "immediate payment" - whihc you can't really do if you're doing cash on collection ifswim.) I emailed the seller - straight after winning it - at abuot 11pm last night, saying I'd like to come and collect on Thursday (ie today) and pay cash. and could he tell me where and when. I can't collect after about 5pm today. he hasn't got back to me yet. when can I hassle him for a reply? normally it wouldn;t be urgent, but it's for christmas, which the seller knows. I'm also worried that he's expecting me to pay by paypal and then collect. although it definitely says cash. I'm worried he hasn't got back to me.

You could request seller's details from ebay - hopefully there would be a 'phone no. you could get him on. Maybe he has a day job and so cannot reply immediately.

Have you definetly won it? Is it in your ive won bit on my ebay?
Because the immediate payment thing, usually means that unless you pay right away with paypal it stays for sale till someone does.
You can pull his phone number from ebay...ill be back in a mo with the thing for that...........

contact the seller doesn't seem to have a phone number - I'll have another look. god I'm worried now that I've ballsed up

That is difficult hatwoman. If it wasn't for Christmas, I'd say a day or two would be normal to wait.

Do you have his phone number? Sometimes it's given with their details.

I think if you go through the "Pay Now" route it gives details at some point?

If he's put that you can do cash on collection the he should be looking aout for an email. SOunds like he's just being a bit slow. Wasn't a booster seat was it...?

feedback's good. I suspect he's not really used to doing pick ups. I wonder if I should just pay and get him to send it.

good point turtledoves. I didn;t email him before about picking up. I could pick it up tomorrow or sat or sun for that matter. but I want it NOW. And I'm terrifed he's going to sell it. In a sense I don;t understand why he hasn't got back to me - even if he's at work he said he would post it today - so he would have to check for payment so he muct be able to access his messages.

I was just thinking - I don;t really mind when I collect it - I don't really want the thing itself now. I just want to have been in direct contact and want to have made an arrangement now, iyswim. just to set my mind at rest. I'm also panicking that he's going to say that he's going away for Christmas.

Have you gone on to ebay and done the 'pay now' thing? There should be an option in there to either pay by paypal or to select 'other' as the seller should have set this up if he is willing to take Cash on Collection. Then he may get back to you quicker as you have confirmed the purchase via ebay? So you don't actually pay until you collect but have committed to buy.
