price of postage in Europe

Have you checked on the price of postage within Europe? to send a Kilo from UK to France is about 10-30 pounds but if you check on EBay, if you buy from Hong Kong or China frequently the postage is free.
How can this be? and people are worried about global warming, this isn't doing anything to help.

Que?

The seller is including it in their price Hmm

Don't you Que me. Have you looked? Or have you actually done a deal and received such an item? You will find the price of sending it is miniscule compared to here in Europe so exactly what I say. How can they do the post so cheaply a distance 10 times as far. And is this good for global warming? Maybe the post is subsidised.

I've been buying and selling on Ebay for many, many years.

If the postage from the far east is "free" its because they have included it in the cost of the item.
Which is not much help when you get whacked for customs.

THe bulk of postal costs are at the handling stages : you have to compare like with like.

I have bought over 50 items ranging in price from China and Hong Kong and have never been charged customs.
