i would have thought 3 working days hun.

can anyone lendyou a tenner to get the little bits you need - you know i would, but hey, you also know my situation!

At least you got the cheque!

Lizzylou · 22/11/2006 11:21

Can YOU write a cheque for the food you need on Saturday? They won't bank it until Monday at earliest?

throckenholt · 22/11/2006 11:22

It might well clear by then. But in the meantime - can you get them to agree an overdraft for say £100 until the cheque clears ?

NotActuallyAMum · 22/11/2006 11:24

If I were you I'd ring the bank and ask if you can draw money on the uncleared cheque. I'm sure they'll let you, I used to do it all the time when I lived with my ex

munz · 22/11/2006 11:26

no chance of an O/d and we don't have a cheuqe card only the book but cna't spend on shopping etc - i'd use my card if I thought the money would def be in there so I didn't get charged iycwim.

i've managed to gert £15's worth to see uis thru, but the poor dogs are eating some food they're going to be stubborn about as it's cheap and they don't like it - but it's tough - bit of gravey and should be fine, it's just I didn't realise today didn't count as a day iycwim??

and I don't really want to go cap in hand to my mum and ask her for some money as she helped us out in the summer with the car - and has just said don't worry about paying it back so I already feel bad about that esp as she's mounting debts herself (not to bail me out thou I must add she's only helped us out once and that was a bit of a biggy - £200 for the car)

NAM - do you think they'd let me take the cash out over the counter/out of the ATM? we don't need all of the value just enought £50 would do tbh. the lady in the bank said sorry but we cna't help you - I did ask if we could pay for a fast clearing service but she said no

bump for anymore suggestions xx

NotActuallyAMum · 22/11/2006 11:48

They certainly used to let me do it munz. Do you have an account manager allocated to you? I used to ring mine and ask if it was OK, he'd say yes then I'd just go into the bank (not via cash machine) and say Mr X has said I can draw on the uncleared cheque, they'd ring him and check then I'd write a cheque out for 'cash' and they'd give me the money

eveimatildasmum · 22/11/2006 11:52

Munz, are you not sevice as well - can you not get an advance of pay through RAO?

munz · 22/11/2006 11:53

not that I know of no the counter girl spoke the the manger - we have a real bad credit thou would this effect anything?

JARM has my email if you wanted.

munz · 22/11/2006 12:07

lol. no it's ok honeslty, thanks for the offer thou.

just spoken to the bank - sort of unhelpful sort of not.

they won't help us out at all. but she said it's due to clear on monday - as in monday AM.

now when I worked in my old co we had a lloyds bus a/c, but looyds would tell us that if payday was a friday the money wouldn't clear till the monday morning, however we could alwasy draw on it on saturday so is it possible it will work out? the cheque's coming from the RBOS.
