5 days?

or get them to send a postal order instead

CountessDracula · 21/11/2006 15:22

they don't want to in case it gets lost in post (fair enough)

I say "pls don't think me rude but I will despatch as soon as chq has cleared. trust you understand." All the people I've said this to have been really nice on feedback.

I think most people expect for their cheque to clear before the goods are sent.
We sell a lot on eBay via our business, and that is our standard practise. Never had any problems (touch wood! )

How much is it for, CD?

There was a thing about this on Moneybox on Sun - atm they can be bounced retrospectively at any point, even months later, if found to be fake (like having a stolen car you bought legitimately taken off you).

But fwiw I've started buying with cheques on ebay, purely because my Paypal credit card limit has been reached and I will not give them my current account details, and there must be lots of people like me (ie straight!)

Helpful, eh?

CountessDracula · 21/11/2006 15:24

oh no she is happy to do that

so it's ok you recokon?

i reckon its ok. i never do paypal any more (they bollocksed something up a while ago). they can send a po crossed in your name and it is automatically insured with proof of postage. no risk to anyone that way.

I usually say 7 working days but check my bank account online to see if its cleared.(wouldn't do a large amout that way though)
