I won £6.60 when I played EuroMillions once.

PinkTinsel · 20/11/2006 15:18

NatalieJane · 20/11/2006 15:18

Actually we got 4 numbers on the Lotto last Saturday, £97, I feel I should be able to help with your dilema....

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:18

Thanks for that, expat - only took YOU about 20 seconds!
Do you think she will?

OP posts:
fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:19

Blimey - I can't type fast enough to keep up!
Didn't even buy a ticket, actually - just fancied a wind up!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 20/11/2006 15:20

I only played it the once myself.

But wahey! A whole £6!

DH was short just that to buy a PS2 game, so I treated him .

PinkTinsel · 20/11/2006 15:20

bet she won't even read the thread before pounding in with her 'opinions'!

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:23

dh used to have a syndicate at work for the normal one and they once got 5 numbers. Only got £1400 in total and it was divided between 10 so we got £140.
Any advances?

OP posts:
madmarchhare · 20/11/2006 15:24

friend had 5 numbers and got to keep all £1500 to herself

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:30

Ooh - that's impressive! You'll have to print off my thread and send her the advice!

flutterbee · 20/11/2006 15:32

I won £10 once on the normal lottery, deciding what to do with it was a long and difficult process. Everyone wanted a share.....moneygrabbers

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:35

I once bought a friend's dh one of those b-d cards with 'I've bought you a yacht, a private jet etc etc...' then you look inside & there's space for a lottery ticket. Anyhow, I bought him one and he won a tenner!

Of course I'm so wealthy already that a mere trifle like a few million on the lottery wouldn't make any difference

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 20/11/2006 15:36

I make that in a year.

That's why I can farm all my progency out to paid lackeys.

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 15:40

Humph! You're just boasting now!
Actually I'd better jump in my W reg 1.0 VW Polo
and whizz down to pick up the kids!
(The Bentley is in for a service today and all the servants are busy polishing the silver)

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 20/11/2006 15:42

You drive yourself about?!

Surely not!

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 16:02

Only since I found out that the Queen does, sometimes!

OP posts:
Bubbletrouble · 20/11/2006 16:33

Yeh we won on Friday £11:20 - just enough for a fish supper! brilliant.

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 19:27

Anyone out there ever won a serious amount of money?

OP posts:
caffeinequeen · 20/11/2006 19:47

Two people in my (v large) old office. One old boot (office dragon) a couple of weeks ago won £2 million (and she was v undeserving I would have spent the money much better LOL
And then receptionist won £280k.

biglips · 20/11/2006 19:49

if i had one more number i would've of won £56k on the Euro Millions

earlysbird · 20/11/2006 20:02

never won more than a tenner, but got a tax rebate this morning yippee

MammyM · 20/11/2006 20:41

Imagine if you did..... my dh (bless him) wants to buy an estate of luxury houses and move all our family and friends in...no-one's ever had much. Then before the draw, he said he'd buy an island and make my dd1 the princess (how sweet is that?) I'd just love to go to my friends houses and say, including mortgage, exactly how much do you owe? Then write out a cheque there and then. Well, you can dream.......

SueW · 20/11/2006 21:02

Two people at my workplace have won over the years. One won £2m, the other £250k.

Two lottery millionaires have moved within half a mile of my house and live next door to each other!

fortyplus · 20/11/2006 21:30

MammyM - paying off everyone's mortgage would just be great, wouldn't it?
A few years ago I went on holiday with my best friends & their families (8 adults, 9 kids) to a brilliant big house on the edge of Exmoor. It's gone up a lot in price over the years so we haven't felt able to justify the cost since then. All our kids go on about it - even now, about 9 years later. So my first cheque would be for a week there, with caterers coming in to prepare all our evening meals. Maybe a string quartet to entertain the grown ups after dinner... Well - I can dream, can't I?

I did have a look here. I suggest people buy their islands through hard work rather than gambling. Some of the richest people I know have interests in gambling (they take your money)... mind you it's been fun watching the share prices fall for those who have a lot of US customers.
