for someone to bash my door and side of car back to where they should be? Someones just reversed into the side of me.

It will cost you the excess on your insurance unless your not fully covered.Otherwise probably a few hundred.Paint ect. isn`t that expesive-its the garage labour rate which can be anything up to £45 per hour.

didn't you get any details from them? it can be expensive, do you have any mechanic mates that will have a go?

i HAD TO HAVE A NEW DOOR AND WING RECENTLY AND it was quoted at nearly £1k and took 3 weeks . But if they reversed into you, then you won't have to pay anything.

Hate to say that i could quite agree with kellys price,bodywork unfortunately is very expensive.i bumped my dads car and damaged the wing and front bumper,the insurance company wrote it off as the bodywork would have cost more than the value of the car(it was an older car)
