Tax Credits .. Joint to single claim

So I cancelled my joint claim end of February.
A pack was sent out in March ... Waited and waited as says can take a few weeks. Nothing arrived. Ordered another and that arrived in April !! So after getting all information it was sent off about two weeks later ... Still haven't heard anything. Lots of phone calls.

So today I got through and told her that I had been without tax credits for near on 2.5 months now and she said she needed to put me through to another department. I got put through the lady took my details and said she would have them sent down to the department that receives all the paperwork and have them pick mine out and put it on the system today ? She took my number and said if any information was needed instead of writing they would call me!
Does it look as though I might finally be getting somewhere ?!
Anyone have any experience

I have only came from joint claim to single and I never had to cancel joint claim, I just phoned them and told them that I am now single and they updated there records (as payments would have stayed the same - apparently)? They should not have made you wait so long AND they should backdate whatever they owe you. Keep up the phone calls in my opinion, best way to hurry them!

Sorry just thought, that was for Child Tax credits, obviously different to Working Tax credits - in that case I can't help but I would keep up badgering them :)

It was for child tax credits thank you - I have two children and it's beginning to wear me down as it's a lot of money they now owe me.
Thankyou for your advice

No problems, hope it is sorted soon - I can imagine what a struggle it is without it :(
