Go to one of the online net salary calculators and plug in numbers till you get the answer.

Optimist1 · 24/04/2015 21:15

£45,000 (if the £3800 is before deductions)

Optimist1 · 24/04/2015 21:15

Sorry- £45,600!!!

About 66k assuming deductions of only income tax and NI. I'd be surprised if people earning that didn't have other deductions though, mainly pension and student loan.

Snowberry86 · 24/04/2015 21:18

No way is it £45000!

I earn £46k and take home £2400 a month after pension, tax, NI and student loan repayments are deducted.

threegoingonthirty · 24/04/2015 21:22

snowberry86 as said above, that is with just tax and NI deducted. You are taking off student loan and pension too so will take home less per month.

It's actually impossible to say without knowing the hours, but for a 40 hour week with a standard tax code, assuming the £3800 is after tax and NI, it is £45,600 - you can do the maths here www.mranchovy.com/calc/

RJnomore · 24/04/2015 21:24

No way it's £45k. Not if that is a net monthly salary.

thatstoast · 24/04/2015 21:28

I'm reading the question as this: If you take home £3800 per month, how much is your gross annual salary?

The answer to that is 66k (assuming no deductions other than income tax and NI).

£3800 x 12 is £45,600 but I'm working on the assumption that the OP knows how to multiply.

karmagetsyou · 24/04/2015 21:45

Thanks - it's £66k ..... just checked with accountant, standard working week.

No deductions just straight income tax & NI

It's no way £45k ... not sure how that's figured out!?!
