Dh turned 65 this month. He received a letter saying his state pension would be paid weekly. But the gov uk website says its paid monthly.

According to his NI no he will be paid on a Thursday.

But why does the letter he recieved say different to the website? Has anyone here experienced this?

My parents/inlaws get paid weekly. Ring up the pension people to check.

DH also reached 65 recently and his is paid 4 weekly. I think the pension accrues on a weekly basis but is paid 4 weekly (not monthly).
I don't think new retirees have the choice of how it's paid.

How it’s paid
The day your pension is paid depends on your National Insurance number.

Last 2 digits of your National Insurance number Day your State Pension gets paid
00 to 19 Monday
20 to 39 Tuesday
40 to 59 Wednesday
60 to 79 Thursday
80 to 99 Friday
Your first payment is made at the end of the first full week after you reach State Pension age. It won’t include the time between reaching State Pension age and your normal payment day if that’s less than one week.
