My and the H have our issues and it's been like this for a long while. I can't live like this any longer, so I'm making my plans of what to do. H has approx £27k in cc debt. It's in his name, I have a card with my name on to one of the cards which has approx £5k on. He has frittered it away on stupid stuff, eating out etc. he handles all our money and I didn't know it was at this kind of amount. If we did split I want to know would I be liable for 50% of the debt? Someone must have been through this before. I'm very scared and it's all so messy Shock

The important question is who signed the contract. You're not liable for any percentage of his debts unless you signed the contract (you can even be a named cardholder, but it's responsibility if you didn't sign the contract and you just had a card added to his account in your name.)
