Self assessment and Payment on account

When I logged on to omelette my assessment, it said that I had about 3k on account. I've filled in this year's return and noticed that the calculations don't pick up the 3k - I would have hoped that the total for the current year would have been reduced to take account of this amount. Does anyone know how this works?

if you log on around the middle of next week it should show the whole of your tax account - total for year less payments on account
but do not forget that you have to pay the first tranche of the 14/15 payments on account at the end of the month
