DH got a verbal warning off a police officer today for what he said was an bad driving ( and it was) I just want to know is it just a slap on the wrist.
The officer said he could do 2 things.

1: A summons to court.

2: A fixed penalty.

He said he didnt have time for these so DH just got a verbal warning, is that the end of the matter.

QueenPeaHead · 15/10/2006 19:27

uh, I mean , obviously

MerlinsBeard · 15/10/2006 19:28

its like the adult equivelent of the naught step. Theres probably not even a written record of it although i could be wrong so don't me to that! I have had verbal warnngs before though as well as a proper caution and nothing came of any of it

bigknickersbigknockers · 15/10/2006 19:30

DH was driving.. when we got pulled up i told him to bloody well talk his way out of this one... he then proceeded to grovel suitably.. the DICK HEAD

grovelling is the only way to go. policemen LOVE grovelling. and winsome smiles. and "oh dear aren't I a silly billy girl" attitudes.

although I don't suppose your dh tried either of those two...

SPACEdoutzombieCADET · 15/10/2006 19:33

a verbal warning is just that, your dh wont get a police record or anything.

Piffle · 15/10/2006 19:59

Yes end of. I got a producer and a telling off but no other action...

Pinotmum · 15/10/2006 20:03

I was pulled over once for not wearing a seat belt (didn't want to crease my blouse ) and after some apologies and explaining that I was taking car to garage the officer looked under my bonnet and cleaned my distributor plug bits and off I went I'm not sure I'd get away with that now though!

nikkie · 15/10/2006 20:08

Can't believe you'd admit to that!
