Your tax position would usually be better as a limited company. It would be good if you could get some independent advice from a business advisor. The economic development unit of your local council might be able to help. Good luck with it all!

if you have a business link near you, they are helpful

local chamber of commerce

small business partnerships

some towns have women only small business groups

SherlockLGJ · 15/10/2006 18:31

BRB

Be right back.

SherlockLGJ · 15/10/2006 18:33

This might help.

I thought it was a type of business I hadn't thought of

Another major decision is whether to use the "Walnut Corner" name I already have (corporatye image) or to use a new brand

SherlockLGJ · 15/10/2006 18:36

Well to be honest, Walnut corner does not do it for me.

Sounds a bit old and shrivelled up,IYKWIM

Katymac · 15/10/2006 18:37

SherlockLGJ · 15/10/2006 18:43

SherlockLGJ · 15/10/2006 18:43

Walnut Tree Corner ???

Katymac · 15/10/2006 18:48

If I change the name will people know it's still me?

I thought either the same name eg Nursery@Walnut Corner or something different I had chosen Snapdragons Daycare when I was going to be working with the school - but now I'm going it alone I wasn't sure

I have a lovely dragon logo

Would you rebrand your existing business as well. If so people will get to grips with the change very quickly. ic ertianly wouldn't try to operate under 2 different names if I were you. Regaridng business type, yes you definitely should get advice on this. There shoudl be a local organistaion who can help. Did you get any funding at all?

Katymac · 15/10/2006 19:04

Ladymuck - the nursery doens't exist yet

My childminding does

I think they will be separate businesses

I want to keep childminding@WalnutCorner

I'm confused
