ARGH. Maternity allowance have paid me too much

I specifically requested a certain amount of weeks on the form and have just noticed theyve paid me over this ( and it looks like theyd continue too) but it's all been sucked up into bills! Will they demand it all back straight away?

Its unfair of them to demand it back in a lump sum am sure you can agree a certain amount to pay back regularly. It was their mistake after all.

If it is like Child Benefit then they just stop all payments until you have paid it back.

But there won't be future payments, MA is a one off.

Ring DWP . It should be your local JobCentre plus that deals with MA.

Mine's currently at 4 weeks (havent been sent a letter though) and I just dont have the £400. God knows what if I hadnt have noticed
