Repair Credit Rating

Just got an experian printout of my Credit Rating. There are no problems just a couple of late payments, bank error, having a baby, that kind of thing. It's no big deal but I like things tidy iykwim. Is there anyway of sorting these things out. Some are quite old and I don't want the hassle of writing to companies I no longer deal with. Is there an easy solution?

Hi.im not sure if you can remove any thing that isn't currently being used..I think these details are removed automatically after 5 or 6 years
I did get told a great tip..if its true mind you..that if when you no longer use an account you leave that account with a credit balance of over a £1 that that account will work FOR you on your credit rating even though not being used.
IKWYM though ..mine was 5 sheets long..you only have to look at a loan now and theyve credit checked you! Good Luck!

I don't think that tip can be true nolastar - one of the most common reasons for declining credit these days is "too much credit available". They add up the available credit on your existing cards and take it as a percentage of your stated income.

Hi, I did the sam and got a credit rating. After getting advice you can improve credit rating by ensuring you are registered to vote at your credit adress. Have a credit card or two. Unfortunatley they will be with high interest - so make sure you pay it off in full monthly - just use it once to do weekly shop for instance. The credit scoring looks at how you manage the credit you have been given. The next electoral vote where I live is updated on December the 1st - not sure if that is the same everywhere.

Good luck
