Broadband providers- early termination penalty fees

We are moving into a rented property which we only intend to stay in for about 8 months. Do most broadband providers allow you to port to another address or will they charge me cancellation fees or make me pay out the remainder of my contract? And can anyone recommend a provider? I'm ruling out Sky but not sure whether to go for BT/ Talktalk/ Virgin etc.

Thank you!

I moved Sky to my current property after about six months - they were great. They set it up really quickly, and had no issues moving the account.

Moving BT was a pain in the ass, they said they'd sort it and then took three weeks to move the account. Then they tried to bill me for both addresses. They apologised in the end, but never again.

Haven't moved with Virgin or TalkTalk, so can't advise on those. Although TalkTalk gets the most complaints, I believe, so I wouldn't go with them personally!

Thanks infinity- maybe I shouldn't rule out Sky after all!
