We booked a double room for dh and me, and a twin bed suite for Granny and ds (cos ds likes to get up V early, so he doesn't have to disturb Granny if he can watch telly in the other room.

I have written confirmation from the hotel.

I've just rung to check that we will have a fridge in the suite, and our booking is for 2 double rooms. Suyrprise, reception say the suite is not now available.

No one in bookings dept. until tomorrow, and apparently no manager on duty either.

REALLY angry. Anyone know what I should say?

p.s. I hadn't paid a deposit, asked but hotel said I didn't need to. But CAN'T cancel, because dh has arranged friday off work to get there, and ds would be bitterly disappointed (so would I).

If they cant give you the suite then you are in a good postion to ask for a pretty stiff discount on the price of the room that is available. And/or ask for your dinner to be complimentary.
