Beneden health care. Is it worth it?

I have been in Beneden health care for years now and the money is taken directly from my wages.

I have never used their services as every time I have a problem (not often ) it seems I must use the NHS first then contact them . So I have never needed to contact them as the NHS does the job.

I have been meaning to stop for some time - but am Im making a mistake to come out? As I get older I will no doubt have other health issues that need attention so maybe its folly to stop now?

Anyone else use them and are happy to pay?

Keep it. DH and his whole family have it and although they haven't needed it they insist it's worth having "just in case".

We've been members for years and, like you, have never used it. My Dad enrolled me and my siblings when we were kids and we've all kept it on since for our own families.

Tbh, in a way I hope we never have need for it but the rest of my family have used it a fair bit - two hernia ops, various consultants appointments for kids stuff. The way things are going with the NHS I'm happy to keep it just in case.

Yes we've used it for bits and pieces over the years as a family. Recently it was used for a back problem - physio referral was a lot quicker and a longer course of sessions were offered than via NHS option. I'm 34 and I'm still covered on my mums policy. It's great there's no age limit for dependants.

My parents have it and have my sister and I on it - I have used it twice - once for quite a major operation and then later when we had infertility investigations and the waiting list for the preliminary tests was months (if not years) long and we used Beneden to shorten the waiting time. It was worth it just for those 2 instances.

Wow . Im pleasantly suprised at the positive replies.

I expected a list of all the reasons why I would be stupid to continue. Mainly because I'm not very clued up financially so take a long time to come to the realisation that Ive made a mistake again

Okay then. I'll let it run since I dont miss the money each month. And I suppose I hope that I never have to call upon them really.

I think it's amazing value and have it "just in case". I know people who have used it and are very pleased.
