now im confused !!!

I thought that siblings of different sexes couldnt share a bedroom after a certain age, is this not the case?

There isn't one. I believe that if you are looking for a council house the recommendation is that children over the age of 10 & of different sexes have separate bedrooms, but it is not a legal requirement.

Yes, think it's as Bugsy says.

It's unworkable otherwise - what happens, do the bedroom-sharing police come and tell you you MUST move house?

Myself and my 2 children are currently sharing a bedroom at my parents house whilst waiting for a council/housing association house.Ive found that councils don't mention an age requirement for different sex siblings to share. The housing associations lists that I'm on differ with some stating my dd(6) is eligilable for her own bedroom now whilst on others its 7 or 8.
Sorry can't have been more of a help, lol,it seems the areas a very sketchy one

There isn't a law (AFAIK), but councils do have a threshold of age 10 after which girls/boys should not be sharing a bedroom. I know this because I was housed in a 3 bedroomed house pretty soon after my eldest was 10, even though there are only the three of us. HTH.
