New Mortgage when pregnant

Does anyone have any experience of getting a mortgage under the new guidelines when pregnant. It would be a joint mortgage with DH who would be the primary earner.

Having done the sums we are confident we can afford the mortgage through mat leave and would continue to be able to even if interest rates increased. I've heard stories about people being turned down as soon as pregnancy is mentioned though... Is this true?

Any advice appreciated Smile

Just don't mention the pregnancy?

I'm in the process of remortgaging and my financial advisor has said not to mention it. It's all a bloody nightmare though, good luck!! X

I don't know about new guidelines, but 3 years ago we didn't announce my pregnancy when we were applying for our first mortgage. Like you, we knew we could just get through mat leave. I never met an adviser so it wasn't exactly hard to hide it.

Dont mention it. I've just gotten a fairly large mortgage offer last week and am 38 wks pregnant. I am going back to work after a few weeks and my income can afford this mortgage. The issue never came up. It's of no consequence to me being able to pay.
