Umbrella company- think I'm being ripped off. Advice please

I've been working for a locum agency since April who insisted on me using an umbrella company for PAYE and NI, this was short term so it wasn't worth setting up a limited company. I used one recommended by the agency. I have submitted all the expenses I'm entitled to and put in my time sheets on time. It started off ok, but for the past 5-6 weeks I have been getting about £150 less than I calculated I would get if I were paying basic rate tax. The amount I'm getting varies from week to week for no apparent reason.
I can't make head nor tail of their payslips, they don't tie the payslip to the week worked or set out the gross pay per hours worked. Does anyone have any advice or know whether there is an ombudsman scheme?
I've tried e mailing but don't get a sensible response?
