DH and I are thinking of embarking upon a self-build mortgage and I was wondering if anyone has done this recently.
We have a decent enough deposit so the LTV will be under 75%. The main downside is that our credit rating is less than.stellar after some credit card issues a few years ago (we basically lived on them post-university but we've pretty much paid them off). DH earns a reasonable salary so affordability should be OK. Is a self-build mortgage harder to achieve than a regular one?
