Will i be entitled to anything??

I will be going on maternity leave for 52 weeks from the end of dec.

On the internet it says i will get either £138 or 90% of my wage, whatever is lower. Problem is my hours go all over the shop, one week i could do 10 hours, the next 30, i like it that way but im worried ill only recieve a small amount for my maternity payment.

Other half earns under 17k a year, he pays all the rent, virgin media, we go halfs on the council tax, he also pays for the car bills, petrol etc. and at the end of it, most of the time hes eating into his over draft.

I dont expect to live off benefits, i chose to have a second child, there for i dont agree that the tax payers pay for me to live. I thought id cover that, and the fact i have worked since 16yo so maybe im entitled to something seeings as im 24, 25 when baby is here.

Does anyone know what we might be entitled to? we dont get any HB or CTB, we only get child benefit of £20 every two weeks and child tax, of around £50? a week? thats it. I havent decided if i want to return to work yet, i quite like the idea of being at home with my two children till the youngest is in pre school. but only if we can afford it.

You should receive £20.50 per week Child benefit OP are you sure it is only £20 every 2 weeks Confused
You will also receive £13.55 once your baby is born.

You could try Turn2Us this website can calculate any benefits you maybe entitled to.

Regarding your Mat pay I think they base it on your wages for a set period before maternity leave but check with your payroll department they should be able to tell you.
