What do I do?

I am watching an item

After I press the BID button

I seem to be the only person interested

It is from a company that have loads of stuff on there

I can pay by VISA or cheque

Which is safer?

Please help me?

How much is the shortest time I can wait before the end?

Do people try to outbid with minutes to spare?

TIA

If you press bid - you need to enter an amount to bid - there is a minimum bid listed which ensures that you don't bid for less than the item is currently selling.

Then you press another button to confirm your bid.

I always pay by paypal so don't know about Visa or cheques - both pretty safe I guess, but a cheque will take longer as the seller will have to receive it and wait for it to clear before sending the item.

You can wait 30 secs, before the end, but if your system is slow for any reason then you could be too late.

Yes people do outbid and you can subscribe to a system such as 'bid sniper' which will do this for you.

Deffo brill Thanks

Then does the seller send me an email

or do I email

What is this about feedback?

Is that after everything is finished?

That won't necessarily email, you often go straight through to a payment page and the next thing you hear is when the parcel arrives. In the old days everyone emailed, but it's the exception rather than the rule now, I would say.

Yes, the seller will send an email with details about posting/collection.

You will find any item you bid for on the 'My ebay' tab. When the seller marks the item as dispatched, the entry will display a 'Leave Feedback' link where you can give positive, neutral or negative feedback. It's generally the 'done thing' at least initially, to send an email rather than leave negative feedback, to give the seller a chance to rectify.

Tamum's right - but you'll get an email if an item is to be collected.

RTKangaMummy · 04/09/2006 15:02
