Tax on PPI redress payment

I received a PPI payment in 2013/14 tax year, which was made up of premiums & associated interest paid plus credit interest & simple interest. The bank letter goes on to say that the delay interest is paid gross so may be subject to tax. Will this apply to all interest elements? I don't complete a tax return so I guess I'll need to contact HMRC?

Mine had tax deducted with a specific note saying that it has already been deducted to make it easier for people as it is something HMRC need to know about. I thought all PPI's had tax taken off already.
