Bloomin tax credits confusion!

Hi can anyone in similar circumstances tell me how much tax cred and child tax cred they get per week for having 1 child and one wage (hubby) earning 16k per year. Trying to work out if im better off retuning to work or not.

Also do I tell tax credits to base my claim on next year's income as mine will be zero hubby w remain the same

They will initially base your award on last years joint income. If that was over £26k they will give yo a Nil award. you then need to ring them up with an estimate of earnings for tax year 2014-15, and they should adjust your award accordingly.

Just to add, you can take off any SMP, as it doesn't count for tax credit calculations.
