Who is happy with their broadband supplier?

HypodeemicNerdle · 09/04/2014 10:20

And how much do you pay?

I'm looking at all changing our broadband and phone supplier from sky but there are too many choices and it's hard to know who will supply us with quality broadband with no hassle and who will cut us off with no warning and bill us crazy amounts.

DH is interested in talk talk because of the you view thing but I can't see much benefit personally.

I have the top of the tree package with BT. Unlimited broadband, phone-calls and their 'Vision' TV package. Costs me about £50/month

annielostit · 09/04/2014 12:23

We had AOL/talktalk really slow. Ds couldn't use Utube with it. It was £16 a month as well.
We now have sky, for 3.75 unlimited.
Dh colleagues complain about BT.

HowardTJMoon · 09/04/2014 12:51

I'm on PlusNet. I pay about £35 a month. For that I get unlimited fibre broadband (about 60Mbps) plus phone line with free evening/weekend calls. I've been with them for years and have had excellent service.

LadyKooKoo · 09/04/2014 12:51

We are with EE. We got a good deal because we have mobile phone with Orange/T-Mobile/EE. £11 phone, £2 internet and £100 cashback.

ouryve · 09/04/2014 12:54

We've always been happy with Plusnet. We have to pay a hefty amount for Internet, though, as we're in a rural area with no LLU.

We finally get to join the 21st century with fibre broadband this Spring, mind. No more finger tapping while MN loads :o

Onmyown1 · 09/04/2014 23:15

Try phoning sky to cancel, I did this and within 2 days they phoned me offering a deal for unlimited fibre broadband £2.50 a month for a year and free hd.

teenagetantrums · 09/04/2014 23:23

I;m with BT, we have unlimited bill is about £35 a month including phone calls, no issues with it all , we can all stream to different laptops at the same time.

Cindy34 · 10/04/2014 12:24

Another happy plusnet customer here. £20 a month for fibre and weekend calls, other calls extra, line rental extra which I pay yearly (cheaper that way).

Think they now do ADSL from £2 a month.

Consider what your usage will be. Are you in a fibre area - big green box near you? Look at unlimited data packages especially is you use and expect to use iplayer, netflix, amazon video etc.

Forago · 10/04/2014 12:26

virgin is fast and reliable but not cheap

TheGirlFromIpanema · 10/04/2014 12:33

I've just switched from sky to virgin and am happy with the price in comparison. Half price for 6 months but over 18 months (length of contract) I will save on what sky charged with a full package for a shade under £80 per month.
Unlimited fibre optic b/band so no break in service plus sports, movies, 3 box multi room and all inclusive calls inc 0845 numbers.

So far I love it Smile

AnneElliott · 10/04/2014 22:08

We are with utility warehouse and pay £5 per month for broadband. No probs with them at all.

williaminajetfighter · 11/04/2014 06:53

Me! Am with Sky. As part of tv package.

Bohemond · 11/04/2014 07:08

BT is the only supplier that can give us decent broadband (infinity 20MBs) in our rural area. We have a business package which is £144 a quarter for broadband only - we have found them to be excellent.

We had an engineer out practically every day for the first month (moved to them pre-infinity). We have two businesses so the service level is important to us and they can usually sent an engineer within 24 hours. That said, all seems to have been working fine for nearly a year.

psychicpaper · 11/04/2014 07:12

Another plusnet fan

ivykaty44 · 11/04/2014 14:50

fogago is right virgin is good but not cheap.

I pay £32 for mobile unlimited text, 1200 minutes and 1 mg of data and broadband to the home, but it is good and will be fine with three of us on laptops etc.

I don't have a tv or telephone line so don't have a tv package or landline package or rental

Naoko · 11/04/2014 14:54

We're with plusnet. Not as cheap as some because we're on the all singing all dancing unlimited fiber package, but we need that (avid gaming household - speed is of the essence and limits are a pain) so we pay for it. They've been fast and reliable.

Essexgirlupnorth · 11/04/2014 14:54

We are with Zen Internet but we don't pay for it as hubby currently works for the company. Technical support is based in uk but not that cheap for domestic users

Nomama · 11/04/2014 16:28

Plusnet - out in the sticks, no capability of whizzy speeds and they were the only ones who told us the absolute truth.

Nice customer service bods too!

Charlieboo30 · 11/04/2014 17:15

Another happy plus net customer here - £25 a month which includes line rental, truly unlimited internet and fee evening/weekend calls. They are brilliant with any problems too.

We live in a very rural area so our choice is limited. Sky is a fortune, even though we have sky TV. We used to be with BT - never again (despite the fact plus net are owned by BT). I'd rather not have internet. My auntie is with AOL and received really poor service and signal. She's about to switch to plus net.

HypodeemicNerdle · 11/04/2014 20:38

Fab, thank you all. Very good points to consider

Lonecatwithkitten · 12/04/2014 16:20

BT for the last 7 years, they are the best of not a great choice here. We have 'issues' here in our exchange that means no one can get a great speed at least with BT it drops out less often than the others.

napoleonsnose · 12/04/2014 16:31

Sky as part of the TV package. Everything except movies and sport, unlimited internet, line rental and anytime calls £50 ish a month. Always been reliable whereas BT was crap!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2014 22:31

We are with primus. I paid £130 line rental upfront for the year, first 6 months unlimited bb £2, £4 thereafter.

I got £60 cashback off topcashback. No problems with connection or buffering.

ohmymimi · 15/04/2014 08:55

Another contented Plus netter here. £30.00 pm, unlimited bb, anytime UK and international calls, 1571 answerphone service.

Fairylea · 15/04/2014 08:58

Plusnet here too..I signed up when they had an offer recently and pay 17.99 a month for unlimited broadband, phone line and weekend and evening calls included. We are very rural and it was that or sky. We had sky before but the network kept dropping us off. No problems with plus net at all. Brilliant.
