Having recently become a single parent I have put in claims for housing & council tax benefit and tax credits have moved from joint to single claim.
I did all this 2 weeks ago but not heard / received anything from any of them.
I've had to pay £1500 to move into a new property (to get away from ex) which was fees, deposit & 1st months rent. So nothing left of my "cushion" and salary for March.
I now have £12 left until I get paid at the end of the month (only work 16hrs so will be approx £450).
I rang tax credits today to explain my situation as I have a £250 childcare bill I should have paid on 1st. They said they can't help me just have to wait. Should be done by next Thursday but might not....
What on earth can I do?
I have 3 DC under 5. 2 in nappies and 1 FF.
Feeling rubbish.

It will be backdated when the claim is sorted, have you anyone you could borrow from or could you try for a budgeting loan?
