car seat - new law

could you please tell me what the new law in September will be regarding car seats ?

What is the height they have to be before they don't need one, dd 8 but quite tall

im pretty sure it is 135cms or 11 years......

So as long as they are 135 tall it doesn't matter what age they are? Is that what it means?

thats how i read it.....my 8 year old is over 150cms tall, and way too big to fit in a car seat of any kind....its all to do with where the belt sits.....if they are tall enough, they dont need the extra height for it to be effective!

Aahh thanks, that's a relief. DD1 is 9 but is about 139 I think, but she hasn't been using a seat for past 6 months, wasn't looking forward to getting her back in one!!
